Testimonials

We will forever be grateful that we hired Sue to be our doula and be apart of our birth team. She exceeded our expectations months leading up to the birth of our daughter and the months after. We appreciated her openness of helping us build our birth plan that we felt comfortable with. She was there for us when our birth plan didn’t go as planned and helped us feel comfortable during this transition . She was a constant support when we had questions or concerns and always addressed every situation in a professional and knowledgeable manner.

We would highly recommend Sue to anyone looking for support before, during and after welcoming their little one. She is beyond amazing!

My relationship with Sue began when I was given the advice to find a post partum doula before our son Matthew was born. It was the best thing that could have happened for both of us! I was a little hesitant at first, thinking about inviting a complete stranger into our house, but after one conversation with her, I knew she was the one.  We had an instant connection on the phone and I immediately felt relieved.  She was  warm, kind, and with her cheery demeanor, I knew she was our gal.  Sue is so knowledgeable in her field and you can definitely tell she loves what she does. Matthew ended up coming earlier than we thought and she was very flexible with changing the dates of our visits. Then, when we met in person, the way she handled and talked with Matthew put me at ease.  I knew we were well taken care and with her assistance, I was able to focus on my own self care. By the time we had our last visit, the conversation, chemistry and the way she was with Matthew made me think of her as more than our doula, she was now a friend.  I was very sad to know our time with her was up, but knew this wasn't the end of our relationship.  She still checks in on us from time to time and I LOVE that I know she's always a text or phone call away if we need it.   We are so lucky to have met her and I know that if we get blessed with more children, she'll be one of the first people we call. We love you Sue and thank you soooooo much for all the help you gave our family!

My wife and I weren't planning on hiring a doula -- we had no cause for concern, no pregnancy complications, we both have supportive families, etc. But all our friends who used a doula highly recommended we hire one too. Sue Chargo came highly recommended from our Nurse Practitioner friend (who interviewed four doulas), so we decided to hire her.

From the very beginning we were both impressed with Sue's demeanor and expertise. She is extremely knowledgeable while also being empathic and easy to get to know. The idea of having a stranger be a part of this very intimate moment was a little scary, but after the first meeting we knew we were in very good hands with Sue.

Sue helped us prepare for the hospital visit, and she was a sounding board for us when we had some labor questions (e.g. is it time or not?). My wife was very anxious about everything, and Sue was fantastic at hearing her concerns and providing comforting insight.

When it came to the big moment, Sue was incredible! My wife was in labor for 18 hours, and Sue was available the whole time to help her feel comfortable. She knew to step back when my wife and I wanted to be close, and she was there to step in when the pain needed to be managed more actively. She helped cultivate a comforting atmosphere, and she offered helpful coaching when it came time to push. When the baby was born, she stepped back entirely to allow us to have our special moment as a brand-new family! She took notes throughout the whole time so we would have our experience documented, and she took some of the most amazing photos during some key moments.

Both my wife and I are so grateful for Sue's help. We can't imagine going through this without her, and we will definitely hire her again for the birth of our next little one.

We were so grateful to have Sue as part of our pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. When we hired her I was hoping to have a minimally medicated vaginal birth. As my pregnancy progressed various complications with my heath added to my stress and worry about birthing the way I envisioned. Sue was wonderful at steadying my nerves about giving birth for the first time. I knew that she would be there to support myself and my husband. As a result of my complications I had to be induced at 37 weeks. The induction process took days and Sue was checking in frequently so that she could arrive when active labor began. When she did arrive her presence gave my husband and I great comfort. We had been waiting so long for the induction to get things going and seeing Sue meant that we were getting closer to meeting our baby! Sue had not been with me for long and my baby's heart rate was starting to have trouble because of my pregnancy complications. There was a time when there was a lot of commotion in the room and Sue was there supporting us emotionally and physically. The final outcome, to ensure my baby's safety, was a C-section. Having Sue in post op with us was amazing. She integrates into your life and feels like family. We were so happy to share the experience with her and so grateful for her support. She visited us twice postpartum. She was always so excited to see our baby and hear about how we were doing. She provided us with a beautiful narrative of my birth story which contained many of the little details I forgot such as my nurses name and the times at which things happened. It was so special to have those details. It gave us peace of mind to know that if we needed her we could have hired her for postpartum doula support. We are so thankful for Sue. Doula support is so important. The unknown's of birth can be scary. Having Sue at your side will provide your family with calm support so that you may enjoy your pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.
